db4o Most Valued Professionals (dVPs) are recognized individuals with expertise in the db4o product who actively participate in our community to share their knowledge and expertise with other db4o users.
Fellow db4o users find it helpful to distinguish those members in the community who have built a track record of contribution and help, based on their advanced db4o programming skills.
The db4o Most Valued Professional Program is the way that db4objects formally acknowledges the accomplishments of these individuals for their contributions to the community. Every year, the dVP committee at db4objects nominates dVPs according to strict selection criteria. The award is valid for one year.
dVPs are recognized with a certificate, an optional listing in the dVP directory (2007, 2008, 2009) and a distinguished badge in the community user profile. Furthermore, the top ranked dVPs are invited to the db4o User Conference, receiving free airfare and conference passes, where they can actively participate in the db4o product roadmap discussion.
All dVPs are visibly qualified for db4o-related development projects by db4objects, its partners and its customers, making the award also an important building block in a professional developer's career profile.
In its launch year 2007, the dVP Program is represented by 53 dVPs in 23 countries.
For 2008 we had 110 nominees representing 29 different countries.
For 2009 it's 125 individuals representing 32 different countries
