db4objects has extended its circle of backers by 3 more Silicon Valley pundits:
- Jerry Fiddler, founding CEO of Wind River, the world's largest embedded software company and the first to pioneer off-the-shelf embedded software
- Tim Howes, CTO of Marc Andreessen's Opsware and inventor of the LDAP protocol. At the time CTO at Netscape, he was the first commercial customer of Berkeley DB, thus effectively kicking off the open source/dual license model, which is common to MySQL, Sleepycat, and db4objects.
- Tim O'Reilly, founder of O'Reilly Media, one of the largest publishing houses on open source and beyond. He coined the term "Web 2.0", which is so ubiquitous that even we can't escape the 2.0-mania ("Community 2.0")
All three chipped in some funds in a secondary closing of our
round B financing, lead by Vinod Khosla in a first closing earlier this year.
We are excited to receive endorsement for our plans from these individuals and I look forward to work with them to grow db4objects to the next level.
