Rumors go that Oracle plans to announce the release of its own Linux version tomorrow - based on Red Hat's distro.
This is unfriendly to Red Hat yet quite a smart move. While a newcomer would find it difficult to establish a trusted brand competing with Red Hat's distro, Oracle certainly has a brand at least at par with Red Hat -- and in addition it has a lot more channel and bundling power than Red Hat.
If true, let's see how the community and Red Hat will deal with this attempt to free ride.
