Free General Public License
db4o is licensed under the GPL by default.
The GPL license is ideal if you plan to use db4o in house or you plan to develop and distribute your own derivative work as free software under the GPL as well.

Commercial License
A commercial license is required if you want to embed db4o in a commercial non-GPL product. Commercial licensees gain access to premium services and support.

"Open" Third Party distribution
db4o's distribution can be found in the folders labelled "db4o". They include db4o's object database engine (in different versions), the ObjectManager and the db4o Replication System (dRS). All of these are referred to as "db4o" in the above statement.

Third party products in this download center are listed in folders labelled "Open". They are not part of db4o or considered distributed by db4objects. When you download third party, "open" software, you accept the license agreement of the respective owner.
