Announcing the release of DataNucleus AccessPlatform version 1.0.0 (final), providing Java persistence to a large range of datastores including db4o using JDO or JPA APIs. AccessPlatform permits specification of classes to be persisted using JDO XML/annotations or JPA XML/annotations and use the persistence API of their choice regardless of which mechanism they chose for persistence specification (e.g specify using JDO annotations, then persist using the JPA API), flexibility not found on other persistence solutions. By bringing support for the JDO and JPA APIs to db4o, it also provides querying using JDOQL, and JPQL, as well as tried and tested transparent persistence, application identity, and value generation capabilities, whilst still permitting access to db4o Native queries. AccessPlatform is released under the Apache2 license.
Limited free support is provided by way of an online forum, while commercial support is also available for those requiring something more reliable.
Documentation is provided on the DataNucleus site and is available for download.
