SAN MATEO, Calif., Jan. 24, 2007 - db4objects (www.db4o.com),

German,
''db4o is not experimenting in new legal ground here (for example MySQL has the same dual licensing scheme)''
Precisely the reason that I (and others) pick and choose GPLed applications and libraries based upon the organization in control. As a GPL licensor myself I often prefer to direct people to Creative Commons' published ...

http://www.db4o.com/about/company/legalpolicies/gplinterpretation.aspx

Actually we can talk with Microsoft about that. But the result will be the same ...

Rogério Weinert:VistaDB costly about 250 USD a royalty-free license and is far more stable and perfomanced than DB4O, but of course, is a relational dababase. I'm not sure that VistaDB far more performanced (haven't seen your tests). Our tests shown that it's sometimes slower, sometimes faster...VistaDB really not so mature as Microsoft SQL ...

Seems like you love open-source model. That's up to you. Don't try to tell me I don't know what is open-source.There are many product types which aren't gaining anything good becoming open-source. Most of the benefit in open-source is in case target audience - developers. That's a real fact.By hackers I mean crackers. Those who are helping people ...
